Journal Junction for Oct. 14 – Martinsburg Journal

From Martinsburg:

Despite syndicated columnist Jonah Goldberg’s pitiful allusions to the same, it is preposterous to equate the hypocrisy of the left, as it relates to Harvey Weinstein, and the revelations of his sordid behavior, with the actions/reactions of President Trump and/or his followers. Both hypocritical? Yes, but on a scale of 1-10, when it comes to hypocrisy and the double standard, the latter might deserve a one and Democrat politicians, Hollywood luminaries and the scumstream media, a ten!

From Hedgesville:

To the low information Hedgesville lib: According to the UN WHO, China is the most polluted nation in the world. For some reason, you seem to think it’s very sad we’re not like them!? Keep drinking the kool-aid!

From Hedgesville:

Despite all the rhetoric from Trump and his supporters purporting “…the American people elected me…,” etc., the American people did not “elect” Trump, the Electoral College did. And, many of the electors were tempted to go against their pledged candidate (Trump) but caved in because of perceived political backlash. Keep in mind, that the “American People” by 3-5 million votes did not want Trump. Beware America.

From Martinsburg:

Does anyone know why the Popeye’s has been closed down temporarily?

From Jefferson County:

Hollywood and a number of high visibility celebrities have dissed on Harvey Weinstein for the pervert he is. So, how come Steve Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel haven’t done parodies about him and his contributions to major politicos such as Hillary Clinton? And why hasn’t Hillary Clinton and the gang not returned the contributions from him to their campaign coffers and family foundations?

From Tomahawk:

Now that the highway bill has been passed, when exactly is there going to be any action taken to four-lane from Charles Town on 340 to the Virginia Line? We hear a lot of huffing and puffing and discussion in between a lot of promises, but nothing materializes. It fades into the woodwork. And is there going to be anything done about Route 9 to Berkeley Springs? It seems as if the Eastern Panhandle’s money is going to Charleston. We hear a lot about the roads down in West Virginia, but nothing in the Eastern Panhandle.

From Glengary:

I don’t know what’s going on at Back Creek’s school, but somebody needs to get them a new flag. Theirs is all torn and faded and tattered. How disrespectful.

From Martinsburg:

I just saw in the social security book that on the first of the year, Medicare is going up $50. What in the world is an older person supposed to do? You’re better off staying on SSI, because then you’ll get everything free. You don’t pay nothing. This is really a shame. We have no health, and Trump isn’t going to help nobody.
