Murder case against Gary Richmond heads to grand jury

MORGANTOWN — The murder case against Gary Richmond will head to the grand jury after a magistrate found probable cause in the case.
Monongalia County Magistrate Jim Nabors found probable cause following a hearing on Nov. 29. Richmond was charged with felony murder and faces life in prison if convicted.
According to his criminal complaint: On Oct. 20, Richmond gave heroin to Hannah Marie Sovastion near his home, and she injected it within eyesight of Richmond’s Independence Hill mobile home park residence.
Sovastion died as a result.
