Fundraiser has rival football theme – The Dominion Post

MORGANTOWN — Morgantown and Huntington will once again go head to head, but it won’t be on the football field.

While Black Friday and Cyber Monday kick off the holiday shopping season, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving — known as Giving Tuesday — starts the season of helping the less fortunate. To that end, Morgantown’s Bartlett House will compete with Huntington’s Harmony House to see who can collect the most donations from Nov. 29-Dec. 2.

Caitlin Cline, a WVU student working with the Bartlett House, said the competition is taking on a WVU vs. Marshall theme. All proceeds will go to support their respective charitable organizations. The loser will have to wear the victor’s team colors for a day — and take pictures proving they did.

Cline said a collection booth will be set up in the Mountainlair from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 29-Dec. 2. Donations will also be accepted at the Bartlett House.
